![]() ![]() These photos were taken on a mostly overcast day, but the glistening metallic highlights of the finish is still very apparent. All of the lugs were hand outlined in a contrasting color - a very light bleached bone hue. It is now painted in a stunning flamboyant finish of deep red and gold and with correct replacement decals applied under a final clear top coat. The original enamel had become a dull oxidized dark gray when found, so this is a very dramatic change. ![]() The bike was purchased by the original owner as a frameset alone - to avoid a premium tax of nearly 25% which was applied to all "complete" new bikes sold in the UK during the 1950s through 1960s. Before that, it had been stored in a shed for nearly 40 years. The frameset of this bike was restored in England before my purchase in early 2003.
